Save editable titles for use in another project
on Mar 21, 2017 at 11:51:05 pm

I'm just wondering if there is any way to save titles created in a Premiere Pro project so they can be imported into another Premiere Pro project and alterred when minor things change in major titles?

I am not aware that you can export the titles as a file.

But what you can do is use 'Media Browser' to browse into the first project and import into the second.

You can do it both ways. It is possible to export a title as an editable file (once reimported).

OK but where does Premiere store these files? I can't find them.

[Richard Martz] "but where does Premiere store these files"

If you access via Media Browser, you have to select the other project and drill into the project file itself. You will find the titles inside whatever bin you saved them in.

If you export a title, it will be on the hard drive, wherever you saved them.

I have discovered that I can close my destination project open the project from which I want to copy a title, browse to that title within the project / bin folder, copy the titles I need, then close my source project and open the destination project. I can then simply paste those title files into whatever bin I want. The resultant titles are editable.

If you have a bunch of different titles you need to use between projects you could create a template project that you could save the titles in. Then you could use the media browser and go grab what you need from that project.

I din't think of that but it is a great idea! Thanks so much!

I have a bunch of great clients. They all have logos and different text and graphic standards to which we must conform. SO everytime I start a project the first thing I have to do is set up a graphic "grid" for all the display graphics. Those are a combination of Photoshop files (no problem) and Titles within premiere (big time waster).

This should work well.

[Richard Martz] "I'm just wondering if there is any way to save titles created in a Premiere Pro project so they can be imported into another Premiere Pro project and altered when minor things change in major titles?"

In the Ppro Titler save the title as a template. This will save the title to be opened and modified with any project you open on the same machine.
