Batch Export Multiple Clips on the Timeline
on Feb 23, 2017 at 1:14:28 am

Hi,

I'm trimming numerous raw footage clips to export as individual clips. I'm searching for a method to improve my workflow efficiency and hopefully automate the process. Here is the workflow provided by the previous editor.

1. Paste all clips into the timeline.
2. Trim each clip
3. Select each clip by pressing "X".
4. Press "E" to Export.
5. Press "Return" to Add to Queue.
6. Move on to next clip. Rinse and repeat.

Is there a quicker way to add individual clips on the timeline to the Export media batch queue?

Thanks,
John

Well, you could choose all the clips in the project panel, right click and choose export and they'll show up in Media Encoder as individual clips, but since you have to trim them, if you're not adding transitions, you should put each clip in its own sequence instead of one timeline, then select all of the sequences in the project panel, right click and export. No need to rinse and repeat 😉

I'm sure someone else will probably have another approach using keyboard shortcuts, but until then...

here's two more ways.
1. right click, nest and they appear in project, then cmd + m queue
2. make subclip and queue

if you don't want to nest...

you can mark in and out in the sequence around a clip or clips and use the Sequence>create sub sequence

to create a sequence of just that range...

then multi-select in the project panel...and export queue to media encoder....
