I'm working on a project in 2.35:1 ratio that's primarily split-screen. Each half includes several layers and many masks in each shot. My project is 1920x817 pixels. My solution to easily do split-screen is to create one sequence that's half the size of the full sequence (i.e. 960x817) and overlay it on the main sequence, moved to the left.
However, for some reason, PP hates this. I can't scrub through footage for a second without PP crashing. Event viewer shows the cause as GPUFoundation.dll which is a PP file and so unrelated to the GPU driver. (I've attempted every troubleshooting solution, including the Adobe Cleaner, rolling back GPU drivers, etc etc.) PP won't crash if I : 1) turn off GPU acceleration in Project Settings or 2) click the eye icon on the embedded sequence layer to hide it.
And so, my question is: are there any better methods to do a dynamic multi-layer split-screen in PP that don't involve embedding a sequence?
