Finding where an encoded file was actually written to
on Feb 10, 2017 at 6:17:31 am

Sometimes when encoding a timeline I enter the output file name and then, after an hour of encoding it's done but I don't see the output file where I thought I sent it. A likely reason is that I mistyped and didn't specify where I intended for the output file. But I don't see any record, or history, showing where the output was actually written, so I can go and move it, or rename it. Is there a way to tell where the file actually went?

Thanks

If I haven't rendered anything else in the interim, I'll just set up to render another file (even if I am not going to actually render it, and lick on the file name. It'll open the dialog box, which should show you where your previous render went.

And of course, there's always a search function in the OS.

System:
Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
Win 7 64-bit
32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2015.02 (as of 6/2016)
256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from HD MP4 and P2 MXF.

Don't "lick on the file name" as Jon suggested. It makes the screen very messy.
