New to the community and somewhat new to video editing though have dabbled in it on and off for the past 4 years but still relatively green. I help a youth sports organization and I came across a video that I'd love to try and reproduce but not 100% sure of how to tackle.
Starting at 13 seconds you see video playing in the background with some sort of textured overlay on top of it so that only a small area of the video is shown. This is what I am trying to emulate and wondering if anyone had any tips to try and go about it.
Is this more of an after effects solution? I have that as well.
Not counting the text, I see at least five layers:
The background -- about twice the horizontal & vertical dimensions of the video -- with a grunge layer on it.
A white-on-black matte for the subject's photograph. You can make one by tossing down white plastic pellets on a black card... artistically, of course.
Another big grunge layer over everything.
The oversized background & grunge layers are for animating position & rotation.
