Sound in the workflow
on Nov 14, 2016 at 4:13:09 pm

I am asking this as i have had and issue with sound in an aftereffects composition i used in a Premiere Pro sequence. I put some sound in the after effects for a logo animation. I put the sound there as i wanted to be able to use that aftereffects comp in a future project. So that brings me to my question, Where should i put sound? What is the best practice for these types of scenarios.

1) DON'T USE MP3s! Use Audition to convert them to wav or aiffs

2) Put your converted audio files in the PP timeline where you want them. You'll use the timeline for timing purposes.

3) Import the PP timeline into AE. Use the audio as a reference for your animation.

4) Render out the completed AE animation with NO AUDIO.

5) Import the AE animation into PP. Tweak the position of the sound effects files if necessary. It's a LOT easier to do this in PP than it is in AE.
