Cannot export sped up audio with AAF from Premiere Pro?

Hello all-
We are prepping a timeline for export to sound design and mix, but are getting a weird error when we try to send something that has been timestretched using the SPEED/DURATION setting.

I get the following error:

Cannot export stretched audio clip "129_tk079c_080_116.wav" (Sequence: "TEST TO ATLAS WITH ORIG", Audio Track: "Audio 2" (#-39401471), Position: 105, Time: 00:00:04:09) because stretched audio is not supported. Converting to a non-stretched audio clip, trimmed to match the original stretch duration.

This happens to any of the timestretched audio, and there is a LOT of it.

How do you go about sending this to a post house?

And as a follow up... what is the best practice then for speeding up audio. It is a common practice in animation...

thanks
chapman

Just want to confirm your problem. The one time I tried to export a clip with sped up, pitch adjusted audio, it exported but there was no sound.

"The plug-in converts video clip speed changes (slow, fast, reverse playback) to the Avid Media Composer Motion Effect, which is the only supported effect. Clip speed applied to nested sequences is also converted. Avid Media Composer does not have an equivalent to Motion Effect for audio. If the speed change makes the audio clip longer than the source media, the plug-in stretches the audio clip to the same length as the rest of the source media. The plug-in begins at the StartTime, and places filler in the gap. You can fix these portions of the sequence manually in the Avid editing system."

DAWs (like ProTools) handle audio speed ups in a very different way. If you must include this stuff, export the clip with the effect baked in as a wav or aiff file and replace the original clip in the timeline. You should also be prepared to provide the original clip at normal speed. So your mixer can do it himself. Time stretching in a DAW is usually superior to that in an NLE.
