One click to remove audio clip
on Oct 2, 2016 at 10:02:04 am

Greetings,
I would like to remove an audio clip from the timeline.

The traditional way:
1. Right click on the clip
2. Click "Unlink"
3. Select the audio clip
4. Delete the selected audio clip

Instead, I would like to get the same result in just one keystroke.
I'm open to any suggestion, and I would really appreciate your assistance, thanks!

1. Hold down the alt-key.
2. Click on the audio and let go of the alt-key.
3. Delete it.

When holding down the alt-key there is no need to unlink and afaik there is no way to use one keystroke to delete audio that is linked to video. Two keystrokes if the video is locked, the correct track/s is targeted is the closest i am aware of.

Thank you so much for the quick reply, it's highly appreciated.

I'd like to emphasize that I would like to avoid any kind of operation that requires mouse movement.

Im open to any creative solutions that requires combining multiple hotkeys in order to perform the task.

1. Lock the video track/s (Can be done with keyboard)
2. Move the CTI over the audio you want to delete (Can be done with keyboard)
3. Make sure that the correct A1,A2, A3, etc, etc is selected. (Can be done with keyboard)
4. Press D
5. Press the Delete key.

So, once you have performed steps 1-3 is becomes easy. It can become cumbersome the more audio tracks you have, iow if you want to delete some but keep some.

Mapped everything to just one hotkey (currently impossible if using Premiere solely) and it works well.
I've added one more step to unlock the video.

Thumb upm thank you so much!
