I am looking for a tool to process XML files programmatically. I want to give it a sequence in the form of an Adobe XML file plus the media files; then I want it to implement the edit decisions in that XML file and spit out a flattened, edited single media file. I want to be able to execute this from a script.
Does anyone know of such a tool? I was thinking Media Encoder might do the trick (using watch folders) however it seems it will only transcode, it doesn't flatten - unless I've missed something.
For context, the purpose of this is to allow a user to use a rough-edit tool to trim clips without having to go to a full-blown NLE. The tools we have only add markers to the file, they don't cut it.
