So, I'm making the switch from having previously worked with 16:9 RED footage in FCP 7, to now starting to cut a film in Premiere CC with footage shot on the Alexa Mini in native 3.2k for a 2:1 output.
The clips were recorded at 3200x1800 but were composed for and intended for 2:1, so of course there's extra information at the top and bottom that need to be cropped out. I'm also applying a LUT to the material, so my plan is to create Proxies in Resolve with the LUT and bring them into Premiere to offline. But for the cropping, do I handle that in Resolve when making the proxies, or do I make the proxies at 16:9 and then crop in Premiere? I'm still a learner with all of this software so any help with this workflow is much appreciated.
