Need Final Cut 7 Access for Legacy Sequences
on Apr 8, 2019 at 9:28:45 pm

I have a number of really important Final Cut 7 legacy sequences that I want to export and import to Premiere Pro. I have been searching high and low for someone with the right computer, operating system and software.

Can anyone suggest someone to help or a workaround? These are documentaries I made with a lot of love and heart. Any suggestions or help you can offer would be much appreciated.

I suggest posting this request on the Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy forum.

I still have my trusty Mac Pro 2010 with FCP 7.
Just send me the project file and see what happens when I export to XML.

Hi Eric,

Thanks so much for getting back to me. To be clear, I have 15-16 Final Cut 7 sequences that are very important to me. They are within at least two separate FC projects. I know that could be time consuming and I would be happy to pay you for your help.

If you can do this, can you suggest a means for me to send you the files? I could get a temporary Drop Box account. I would be grateful to you forever. (I'm a producer/director and relied on advice that I could easily use Final Cut X to export the FC 7 files.)

All the best,

Julie

What I want to test is if you just send me the FCP XML file and see if I can convert to Premiere.
I am hoping that once you get the Premiere file back, you can just try and relink the source files.
I would be okay with that for no charge.
