Video noise with new camera
on Dec 14, 2018 at 9:57:10 pm

I recently got a new camera; an Ordro 4K. When I import the footage to my computer, it looks fine.

However, when I import it into Premiere, it looks god awful.

Why does it do this? Does anybody have a solution?

If you ask me, that first image doesn't look very good, either. There is noise at the edges of the shoulder and the cushions.

I've never heard of this camera. What are its technical specifications?

4K and 24 megapixel. I feel like I'm missing some stuff you're asking for though; is that it?

Is PPro adding a LUT to the footage? If you go to your effects panel, do you see Lumetri?

No. I tried adding it, but that didn't really help.

Never heard of the Ordro either.
Guessing this camera is not supported by Premiere.
Run files through Handbrake and convert.

Is Handbrake Windows-supported? It seems more like a Mac application to me.

Handbrake is indeed available for Windows machines, and is a great tool to keep in the toolbox, as is Videolan VLC Media Player.

Try playing some of your footage in VLC Media Player, and press CTRL+J while it is playing. This will open up a window with data about your footage that may prove helpful.

If your footage will not play properly in VLC, then you may have a codec issue.

System:
Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
Win 7 64-bit
32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2017.1 (as of 8/2017)
256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from UHD MP4, HD MP4, and HD P2 MXF.

This is what VLC says. Does any of it look like what's causing the noise? I'm not the best with computers.

Well, your footage is NOT 4K. It's 2K.
If it's in a 4K timeline, the pixels will be twice as big, explaining a bit of the crummy look of your video.

And I just looked up an Ordro 4K camera on Amazon. It lists for less than $180 US dollars! It's a stinkin' TOY!
A so-so quality PROFESSIONAL 4K camera costs 10 times that amount!

And you're wondering why the image doesn't look pristine? Really?
