Is Premiere CC 2018 compatible with Boris Red 5.6?
on Jul 5, 2018 at 2:19:48 pm

I just upgraded from Premiere Pro CS6 to Premiere CC 2018. Boris Red is listed on the Adobe Premiere Plug-ins page, so I thought at would be simple to install Boris Red transitions/filters ... apparently that's not the case. The Boris Red installer lists Premiere CC 2017 as an option, (but not 2018). With Premiere 2017 selected, the Boris installer runs and appears to finish the install process, but Boris does not show up in the Premiere effects panel.

Is this a known problem? Is there a different way to install the Boris plug-ins? is there an upgrade path from Boris Red to a successor product?

If you have installed PP 12.1 you are just at the very beginning of 'things going wrong".

My advice; before you start any projects is to RUN!!! back to PP 2017, and wait for Adobe to get of their arrogant posterior and fix the currant version.

Seconding Al. In our shop, CC2018 is a "nope". We routinely stay behind one version, and let other poor souls be the beta testers.

System:
Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
Win 7 64-bit
32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2017.1 (as of 8/2017)
256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from UHD MP4, HD MP4, and HD P2 MXF.
