Audio levels and Premiere-After Effects synamic link.
on Dec 29, 2017 at 9:13:10 pm

Hi, I have a sequence with some clips using dynamic links between premiere and after effects. The clips use both audio and video from after effects.
My problem is, whatever setting I use, my audio is louder (and often clipping) after "Render and Replace". This is also visible in the waveform. Any advice?

I wouldn't count on After Effects to be a great source for audio. AE's not built for that kind of stuff. Basically, AE sucks at audio.

I only use audio in AE as a reference to time out animations.... and then I import the original audio clips into PP. It's dead simple to sync them up again.

Dave: You must Admit that what He (And You apparently Confirmed...) States is a problem, and he would appreciate a potential fix (Should one exist).... Instead of a "Work Around"....
No One likes to have to Remember: "Oh Yes, There's a Bug in the Program....Don't forget the work around...."

I do this infrequently, but would also appreciate a fix, if one exists? I'd look at Default Audio Levels in both programs to see if they are both set the same.... For Example. PPRO Defaults at -12 (Instead of Broadcast -20).... IF AE defualts to -20, there's your 8Db of difference! But I'm not as good with AE..... So I'm guessing...

If you expect perfection out of Adobe software, prepare to be greatly disappointed.
If you expect it will work precisely as the Adobe marketing people imply that it will, stand by for frustration.
The people in Adobe's marketing propaganda who have such great success with the applications ALSO have been known to re-write Adobe's code to get it to function properly.

Long story short -- get used to workarounds or get used to twiddling your fingers.

Thanks Dave and Jan.

I've managed it sending the video only to AE and relying on the original audio from the clip.
