.AI files into Premiere Pro look like hell

Why don't vector files from Illustrator come into Premiere Pro smoothly? As it is, they come in looking like garbage if you need to scale them up, which is kind of the point of vector graphics. So far the only solution has been to scale up the files in illustrator but doesn't that seem like a lot of work? A vector file SHOULD go into Premiere as clearly as it does in After Effects, right?
Any help here would be sweet.

Kind regards,

[Chris Gomersall] "A vector file SHOULD go into Premiere as clearly as it does in After Effects, right?"

Nope. Sorry. Two different beasts... and neither one of them was originally created by Adobe.

Those files will be treated as though they're a video file so none of the vector info is retained when you import them into Premiere.

Hard Drives are now stupidly cheap. A RE-SHOOT AND YOUR TIME AREN'T."

What these gentlemen said.

After Effects lets the raster and vector kids play together. Premiere Pro is strictly a raster playground.

System:
Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
Win 7 64-bit
32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2017.1 (as of 8/2017)
256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from UHD MP4, HD MP4, and HD P2 MXF.

And if you really need to use AI files, make sure to set the pixel resolution to size.

I tend to receive logos from clients at 300x200 pixels kinda drives me crazy.
Would need a trip to Photoshop first before Premiere.
But all that is rare since After Effects is always my tweener tool :)
