Graphics appearing TOO transparent in premiere
on Nov 29, 2017 at 4:27:58 pm

I have this weird issue that I have no idea how to fix...
I export graphics from after effects, and i premiere they're way too transparent... I'm exporting in pro res 4444 rgb+alpha... tried also exporting in animation with an alpha channel and it does the same exact thing... I don't know what playback or preview setting in premiere i'm not getting right.

If you could post a screen shot or capture that would help. Not clear on how the transparent part of the image can be "too" transparent.

System:
Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
Win 7 64-bit
32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2017.1 (as of 8/2017)
256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from UHD MP4, HD MP4, and HD P2 MXF.

I changed the graphic... (i know its not the same) just to clarify... but the transparency difference is still the same.

I figured it out!

FILE --> PROJECT SETTINGS --> GENERAL:

have to change the renderer to "Mercury Playback Engine Software Only"

instead of "Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration"

...fixed it. :)

I have let Adobe know about the issues between GPU acceleration and CPU acceleration for a long time. On a positive note it is now 2017. In the year 2019 or 2020 8 core and 16 core CPU will be the norm. You may not need an expensive $350.00 GPU in the not so distant future.

Select Maximum bit rate and see if that helps. Also try using GPU acceleration turned on and off and see if you notice a difference.
