There is a bug in using vegas 10 and layout by timecode
on Nov 27, 2010 at 6:44:38 pm

I have vegas 10a and a pair of NXCam cameras.

I recorded a 3 hour video, which the camera breaks up into smaller files, so there are about 5 files. I shot in 1920 by 1080 24p

I import them into vegas 10, and tell them to lay out tracks according to media timecode and it nicely lays out all 5 files in a row. This is a bug fix in 10, since it didn't even do that in Vegas 9.

HOWEVER!!! After closer examinition, there is one frame gap between each of the 5 files. When I look at the timecodes, they are contiguous.

I first did this with both cameras, and each had a set of camera tracks had its own gap between files. So, I tried it with just one camera, and the problem is still there.

These video files were recorded continously, the media timecode is contiguous, but the lay out skips on frame, which is not acceptable.

I tried this on my 64 bit version of Vegas 10 and on my 32 bit version of vegas 10 and it is the same.

PS, I submitted a bug report to sony software, I will keep you informed.
