I've looking for a compact 1080p60 camcorder to use in a live production setting. I want to use HDMI output, because most of the rest of my system is also HDMI. And I need as little delay as possible, because I'm using a software video switcher (vMix) and the capture card and output from PC also add their own delays.
With the Sony HVR-V1U 1080i camera, I get a delay of about 30 ms on the HDMI output. My method of measuring the delay is to point the camera at a laptop running the timer at tft.vanity.dk/inputlag.html , connect the camera's HDMI output to an HDMI monitor, and then take a picture of both screens with a DSLR camera on a fast shutter setting.
What I'd like to know is how the Sony NX70U performs in this kind of test. I've tried a Canon 1080p camcorder and its delay is about 67 ms. Hopefully the NX70U is better. Would any NX70U users be willing to try this to help me out?
Here's a picture showing the test with the Canon camera: http://imgur.com/vKYm4eL (bottom is source laptop, top is output monitor connected to camera)
