NX5U Shutter Speed(s)
on Aug 12, 2013 at 11:19:44 am

While shooting a job back in July, I assumed a higher shutter speed would provide better images, so I set my Sony NX5U shutter speed to record at 180sec. I found out that when shooting indoors with MERCURY VAPOR lighting the resultant video had rolling scan lines similar to when shooting a CRT monitor with older equipment. I have subsequently reduced to shoot all my video at 125sec. max. Evidently the problem I had seems to lie with "sync" matching. Just a thought.

Check out this article on the "180 degree shutter rule"- http://tylerginter.tumblr.com/post/11480534977/180-degree-shutter-learn-it-...

It doesn't talk about the issue you had, just thought it would be some good reading for you.
