Does anyone know if I can clean the surface of the CMOS sensor with a soft lens cloth?

I'd try a small blower brush first. I had some junk land on my sensor the other day and used some compressed air....but be VERY careful. I turned the camera body so that the lens opening was facing down and then shot the air past the opening, not into it. That's all it took. Just remember to start with the least invasive methods first. I wouldn't get one of the chip wands for it until you have something on the surface of the chip that gentle air won't remove.
