On one of the FCP threads I started it's become apparent that ICC profiles can be used by FCP to control the look of clips.
ICC profiles can be applied to clips via Effects>Video Filters>Quicktime>Colorsync.
They can also be 'burnt' into clips in the "export>using quicktime conversion" window, or from within Quicktime Player 7, under Export>Video>filter>Adjustments>Colorsync.
So, with Light Illusion's SpaceMan ICC we can accurately covert 3D LUTs into ICC profiles, which means Alexa Log-C footage can be 'look' managed via 3D LUTs in the form of ICC profiles.
What I need is a couple of 'testers' working with Alexa Log-C footage to test the workflow.
This will not be a free workflow as converting 3DLUTs into ICC profiles is not a trivial process, and SpaceMan ICC is a commercial product, but it could produce a real colour management workflow as any 3D LUT can be converted into an ICC profile, making FCP LUT capable without the need for the 'Color' module.
