Any polluted snow dust will eat (damage) the optical coatings off your outside- most lens surface immediately, so a lens window or conditions of no such problem are needed. Any grease in moving parts will stop moving, so choose dry moving parts. You`ll be putting your battery belts and canteen (hot or cold) inside of your coat. If you fog your lens with your breath don`t dream of wiping it off. And last, this snow shoveller`s wisdom, don`t open your zipper all the way or you can`t get it closed, don`t close your zipper all the way or you can`t get it open. That`s all.
