Alexa onboard audio or double system

Can anyone who has actually shot with Alexa give me an idea if the onboard audio is sufficient? I am working on a stage doing a commercial with a traditional agency client who is used to instant playback with no issues. Do I need to have my audio guy use a double system? He's saying everyone is using a double system.

No Internal Audio Recording in camera is not due until the next software build-

But when it is the audio recording internally will be 24bit 48Khz and that is certainly better than the vast majority of internal camera recordings which are usually 32bit and 44.1Khz

so for the long term the internally recorded audio will be excellent to use in Post.

Because the audio on the Alexa has yet to be implemented, for now you have to basically treat it as a film camera and "shoot" double system. Where a client wants playback, or instant dailies, I offer to record the monitor output (which is set to Rec 709 with the TC embedded) and the audio from the recordist into a seperate outboard recorder (like a Nanoflash, Ki Pro or even XDCAM deck). This way you can record C-Log to the cards and still have immediate playback/dailies of the 709 pictute with audio and matching time code.

The one inconvenience is that there is only one monitor output so you'll have to loop back to an on-board monitor if you're using one, and you should remember to tiurn of the framelines and on screen monitor displays.
