Wowie ! I just saw the press release on this. Has Proavio tested this new 12g drive array on a Mac computer ? Are there any speed results ?

For anyone who missed it, here's the press release.

Their stuff generally supports both Mac and Windows, which you can see in the FAQs...but yes, some more information about specific configs would be interesting....

Gentlemen,

Sorry I was a little late on my reply, for some reason I didn't see this thread when Bob started it.

Here's the product datasheet for the moment: http://www.proavio.com/documents/datasheets/PROAVIO_V2_DATASHEET_041714.pdf

the spec sheet does not show the performance on an Apple Macintosh computer in any configuration. We would like to know the performance with the 12g connection on a Mac computer.

Thanks -

Disks ?

Raid 5 or 6 ?

Why not a 12Gig HBA ?

Cheers

Simon,

Sorry, putting information up as I have it.

Test was done with SATA 4TB drives, in RAID 5. Using a 12G card on an older Mac Pro doesn't make much sense as the older machines don't utilize PCIe3 expansion slots, like the HPZ 8000 series machines do, in that scenario.

You will definitely achieve more than 1500MB/s with the 12G card.
