Keeping RAID Disks Spooled

Hello everyone,

My computer runs its operating system (Windows 7) on a SSD with two secondary harddrives in RAID 1 to store all of my files and media. The SSD is extremely fast, but I run into a problem when I try to pull information off of the harddrives - they don't stay spinning, so if I haven't done something with them (even for a minute or two), it takes 6-8 seconds for them to spool back up.

I'm wondering if there is a way I can force them to stay spun-up, as they would if I were running the OS off of them? They are Western Digital 7200rpm Caviar Black drives, for what it's worth. As far as other specs for the computer, I'd be happy to list them if they are needed. Thanks for the help!!

Easy fix.

Control Panel, Power Options, Change Plan Settings, Change Advanced Power settings, then where it says "Turn Hard Disks after" instead of selecting a number of minutes, set it to say "never"
