FFmpeg batch job to convert strange XDCAM (mp4) files
on Jul 18, 2012 at 10:21:44 pm

Hello,

I would like to know how can I convert files in strange structure:

BPAV
CLPR
TAKR
CUEUP.XML
MEDIAPRO.XML

and in the CLPR catalog I have few catalogs called like 972_1388_01 and in this folders I have:
972_1389_01.mp4
972_1389_01.smi
972_1389_01I01.ppn
972_1389_01M01.xml
972_1389_01r01.bim

Is it any solution to grab lot of content to ffmpeg to convert? If yes, I would like connect all of this materials also inline to have one long file.

But please tell me that is any XDCAM format extension, and I would be able to automate all recoding process.

thank you

Hi. There is no strange structure about that. The fact is that corresponds to a XDCAM file footage, where the real video file is 972_1389_01.mp4, and the others are SONY propietary info files, that records metadata concerning the footage.
If you want to convert the file with ffmpeg (for instance if your NLES doesn´t accept mp4) you can try this batch script con windows or bash in linux:
ffmpeg.exe -i "INFUT_FILE_NAME.mp4" -threads 2 -vcodec dvvideo -s 720x576 -r 25.00 -threads 1 -pix_fmt yuv420p -g 300 -qmin 3 -b 2048k -async 1 -g 300 -acodec pcm_s16le -ab 1536k -qscale 10 -aspect 16:9 -y "OUTPUT_FILE_NAME.avi"
Best regards
