Cutting brngs video upside down
on Jan 11, 2011 at 11:10:38 am

Hello community,
I am relatively new to ffmpeg and all that, so please be little patient with me.
I do have an avi file, which contains a video and an audio track, which is rougly about 5min long. I now want to extract 5seconds from that whole stream. I enter the command:ffmpeg -sameq -ss 00:00:10.540 -t 5 -i movie.avi -vcodec copy -acodec copy 5seconds.avi
The part and duration of that new video are correct, but the video is upside down. Why is that the case, can anybody please help me?
The machine this is running on is a WinXP Pro and the ffmpeg version I am using is SVN-r26292

Thanks a lot
Best regards

[Seb Ar] "The part and duration of that new video are correct, but the video is upside down."

I have seen this symptom posted in several places but alas, could not find a solution or cause. I cannot replicate the problem.

It would be a good idea to try to see if the cause is AVI files in general or an encoder bug. Does it happen if you use a different input format like mp4?

Michael
