Video streaming from webcam using ffmpeg
on Aug 18, 2010 at 8:35:36 pm

Hi,

I need to stream video from webcam using ffmpeg. I'm using Windows XP and have downloaded the latest compiled version of ffmpeg for Windows. I know how to capture video stream from the camera into the file, I'm using the following:

ffmpeg -vfwcap -r 25 -i 0 outfile.mpg

However what I need is to stream the output od ffmpeg using either UDP (preferably) or RTP over the Internet. Is there a way to do this using ffmpeg? I see that UDP protocol is supported (http://www.ffmpeg.org/ffmpeg-doc.html#SEC45) but there is no any explanation.

Thanks!
