Black Detail Mode question.
on May 22, 2015 at 3:20:48 pm

Hello I own LM24651W, recently in Function menu I found Black Detail mode, which kind of crushes the black on the monitor, image looks more contrasty, and the yellow light at the top blinks, is this mode better for grading? I am grading in rec 709 and then DCP software does conversion from rec 709 to dci.
thanks

I had one more question, for this monitor should I use video levels or data levels coming from Davinci Resolve, I am grading in Rec 709,

Do not use Black Detail mode for grading. It is a feature that was designed at the request of a handful of customers for quality control applications. It is not suitable for color grading and clips your highlights when activated (hence the tally that flashes as a warning).
