LMD-1750W Snapshot , is it possible
on Jul 27, 2012 at 5:06:20 pm

Hi Cow community,

Hoping for a little advise and pointers,

This is what I want to do:

take a still/snapshot of the picture being displayed on the Sony monitor WITH the grid-lines or markers shown.

This would be extremely helpful in our QC process rather than stand in front of the monitor with a camera or import the video to an NLE and attempt to take a snap shot that way.

The monitor has Ethernet and serial connectors

I called Sony and technical support said it was not possible. I also tried the outputs of the monitor itself and the markers do not transfer.

Would you know if this is possible. What is the best way to provide marker snapshots to show agencies and clients that the creative is out of safe areas.

thank you much!!

We just do screen grabs from the software being used with the overlays turned on.

HI Walter,

thank you for your response,

are you referring to editing software like FCP or Vegas? or is there something else you prefer to use.

thank you!

[jay agoglia] "re you referring to editing software like FCP or Vegas? or is there something else you prefer to use. "

Photoshop, After Effects, FCP, Premiere Pro, Avid, Smoke, whatever you want, they all have the safe guides.
