shooting interlace

Is there any chance that any DSLR will make it possible to shoot interlace footage? Interlace shooting uses the same bandwidth as progressive (halved frames but double framerate) so why there is no 50i feature in DLSRs?

I am producing documentary series for broadcast but my tv station accepts only 50i material. I don't know to use big cameras as the production conditions are not very good.

Hi Grzegorz,
The Lumixs shoots Interlaced and there are few patches available to highly improve the picture quality.

Rent a Sony EX-1r for your shoot. If you can us a DSLR, it won't take you long to learn the settings, plus you'll have audio.

Shoot progressive, but supply interlaced. Simple.
