How do I easily create identical "transcode" folders to my "originals" folders for 5D Footage
on Oct 13, 2011 at 7:13:11 am

I had a question about how to copy a folder structure without copying the files within the folders.
Basically after a large shoot I create the following folders for my original 5D footage to live in as seen here:

>Originals
>Day 1
>ACam 1
>ACam 2
>ACam 3
>BCam 1
>BCam 2
>Day 2
>ACam 1
>ACam 2
>BCam 1.......Etc.

When it is time to transcode my footage using MPEG Stream Clips I find myself having to manually create all the folders again to house all the transcoded clips. As you can imagine, this can be very time consuming.

Does anyone have any suggestions of how to duplicate a folder structure without copying over all the files? I still like to transcode my footage and prefer not to edit in Raw H264.

Thanks!

Do you mean like a template to transcode your footage to> Make the empty folders -> then Copy -> Paste?

Not sure I see your troubleā€¦ so before you go on a shoot - you create this folder structure? Then you want to transcode your footage to said folders?
