Hi guys

Is there any software (Windows/Mac) that will show me the ISO I used for a video I shot?

Thanks

My Canon creates .thm files for every video I film. This file has all the details of the camera settings for that clip including ISO....simply take the memory card out of your camera and place it in a card reader and you will see these files - again, one for each video clip.

I don't think this will work for my Nikon camera though Steve.

Nikon has something similar - - what you want is the file that contains the "EXIF" data - in Canon it's called the .thm file but Nikon may call the file something else - it has one though! :-)

Steve, I just clicked open a thm file and it was just the thumbnail image... How to you view the settings data?

The CD that came with your camera includes an EXIF viewing application you use to open the thm file - then you will see all the camera data

Ok, I tried both the Nikon and a 3rd party EXIF reader but to no avail.

I cannot open AVI files to view the ISO, aperture etc.

Are you sure this can be viewed?

I've only done this using my Canon so I suggest you try another forum that is dedicated to Nikon cameras or do some Google searching to find the answer...like what you experienced if I try to open a thm file with the wrong application all I see is the thumbnail but when I use an application called "EXIF Viewer" I see all the additional data

Does it show you ISO info for your movies in your EXIF viewer?

Oh one other thing I forgot to mention that is important - not every exif viewing application can read the data from every camera manufacturer or model....you have to find an application that can read the exif data generated by your particular camera which, in this case, is contained within thm files.

You can also try downloading an evaluation copy of Adobe Lightroom - I just read how it can also read THM files (from Canon at least)

Hi Steve.

I tried using my Nikon software but to no avail. I still cannot get the video's ISO.

It's a shame.

Have you tried the Freeware "Exif Viewer"? Works perfectly with the .thm files of my Canon.
