Canon codecs in Pro Camcorder

I love the 7D, but I know the lack of some important elements. I think that we have to wait until Canon can develop a new DSLR better designed for all of us, people who loves the cinematik look at an affordable price. In the meantime, could someone say me why for the hell, Sony, Panasonic and Canon work in their camcorders with the AVCHD packages that are so difficult to manage in MacOS? You cannot even see the footage in the finder. Someone should make a camcorder that record in plain h264 like the beloved Canons.

Yeah this comes down to priorities- which is to have a good still image first, a video signal last. I'd be pleased as punch if they could just shoot right to ProRes in the camera but that seems unlikely so far...

My request is they give us codec options. Really,...how hard could it be to just have 3-4 different codec options in the camera menu so that we can select our favorite flavor?

That being said, I have DSLR's, but I won't buy anymore. It'll be the Panasonic AF-100. I love Sony, but they left out some necessary options on their new camera, namely built in ND filters.
