If you want to shoot "aerials" at low level (10 to 15 feet or so above ground) you probably won't need a hexa/octocopter or crane. Grab a boom pole and attach a Sony HX9V. This cam features a great optical image stabilizer and records 1080 50p! Take a look at http://eventfilm.at/blog/en/floating-in-the-sky/

This is a very cool idea, and very impressive video. I didn't quite lock onto what you were saying about HDMI compatibility with the SmallHD monitor, but you seem to be saying that either the camera does not output to HDMI during video recording at some format and resolution settings, or else the DP6 does not accept the camera's output for all settings. I'd be interested to know more about your rigging - how are you attaching the camera monitor to the boom pole?

Up to now I couldn't get hold of another monitor, so I can't tell why AVCHD 50p delivers black screen. Either DP6 can't handle 1080 50p or HX9V doesn't send any signal in that mode. Live view when using MP4 25p works fine.
I added a photo at the end of the article, it's a simple table tripod/clamp (from Hama).
