Best /Fastest Download Option

Hi Everyone

If one had to download 100GB or more of footage from UMDA compact flash cards relatively fast, what would be the best/fastest options?

Depends to where but the fastest transfer I've seen yet are the Sandisk Firewire 800 readers.

The destination being a LaCie 2TB. It's a good thing they are reasonably priced. :)

Thanks Noah!

I meant- the destination being a FW800 or USB only compatible computer. Some laptops do not have FW800. But if you do, that's what you want until eSATA, USB3 or Thunderbolt come around of course. :)

Yes, Thunderbolt....I was reading about that today actually. I do have a FireWire 800 port on my iMac. I have a couple back to back events coming up... looks like I'll be doing some downloading during the first event, or not getting much sleep between... or if I find $500 I can get more cards :)

Yeah I'd load up on cards. And get an intern.

I don't think the SanDiskFW800 or Lexar FW800 card readers are available anymore. Online shops seem to have them marked as "out of stock" or "no longer available".
