Just read that the Technicolor Picture Style is available:

http://zech-fstop.blogspot.com/2011/04/new-picture-style-from-technicolor_2...

Looks great. Damn, my T2i is at home...

Edit:

Quote from the Technicolor FAQ-site

"When the Technicolor CineStyle is selected in the camera it puts the standard H.264 REC709 color space into a log color space. Video images are recorded in log space. Still images are also converted into the same log color space. This is the first implementation of its kind for the Canon EOS line of cameras."

Sounds awesome!

It doesn't work on movie mode on T2i!

I have loaded CineStyle successfully on a T3i (600D), but the procedure varies significantly from process on 5D Mk II.

Camera mode dial must be in Manual in order for EOS Utility to load CineStyle into camera.

After loading CineStyle in Manual mode, and while still tethered to EOS Utility, switch camera mode dial to Movie.

EOS Utility will reflect change to Movie mode. CineStyle must then be selected in EOS Utility.

Power down camera, remove USB cable, and on reboot, CineStyle will be there.

Hey Danny,

Thanks for putting the pointers on installing this for your t3i. Don't think I would've worked that out for my t2i without your post!

Roll on the first shoot with Cinestyle this Friday!

Thanks Danny. I don't think I would've figured that out without your pointer. How'd you come up with that ?

Just tried it on a studio shoot this morning. Does a very nice job of reducing some of the shadow noise. I've been using the Light Illusion camera profiles for the last few months, but this is a lot more reliable workflow to get an accurate image. I like.
