D7000 sample and question
on Jan 8, 2011 at 6:04:24 pm

I uploaded a clip straight from the camera and it can be seen here with shooting details:

My question is about the artifacts I see in the buildings. Is this just the reality of mpeg4 with this camera? Any suggestions or thoughts?

Here is another sample with a different lens. A few artifacts as well, but not as bad.

Thanks

might be moiring. It's weird, alternating the white and black. I think you'd have to fix it by using tinderbox's deflicker and tweaking the heck out of it. Also, your exposure was on automatic.

Thanks Chris. Actually it wasn't on automatic though. I know it looks like the picture brightens, but it really was on manual and I think it is just the contents of the scene as it zooms in that makes it seem like it is in automatic. Weird huh?

Here are some more samples of different clips from the camera:

The moraying drives me crazy. I just did a side by side with my T2i and it's significantly worse with the 7000. There's some with the Canon, but much more with the Nikon.

I have to say, I think the Nikon isn't fit to hold the Canon's lens cap when it comes to HD. No 1080/30p. No aperture adjustment in live/video mode (WTF!) An unreliable view screen. And cheesy moraying
