What is the flashing portion of this video? (Nikon D7100)

(probably need to switch to HD to see it)

Upper center-right, where the tall tree branches intersect the sky, there's like some odd purple flickering that occurs. Shows up in out-of-the-camera too, before compression for the web.

I feel like there's a name for this issue, any idea of what it is and why it's occurring? Shot with a D7100, Tassinflat picture style, 1/50th @ 5.6.

That's some weird shit. It looks to me like it's a codec problem, like the camera's processor is having trouble rendering the contrast of the thin, dark branches against the bright sky.

I note you're using a third-party picture style--what happens when you switch to one of the standard ones like Faithful?

Sorry, I realize that Faithful is a Canon standard setting. But still, what happens when you switch to a regular picture style?
