Hello. Im new to this site but I have a Zoom H1 with a windshield, rycote shockmount, rode boom pole and an opteka hand grip. I wanted to get decent audio for my short film but the boom pole picks up terrible noise. The hand grip is good but i cant get as close to my cast as I could with the boom pole. Is there a way I can get some kind of thing that gives me good sound that can record into my zoom h1 at decent volume?

What and where are you recording?

i.e. Spoken dialog indoor, etc...

What audio equipment do your currently own?

What is your budget for new audio gear?

Do you have an isolation shock mount on the boom pole? If not, get one. They go for anywhere from 30 dollars to hundreds. That's most likely your problem.

Hi, as noted a shock mount, or, use a shotgun mic into the Zoom but placement close in, out of shadow and view, above and pointed angled down will be key.

Each shot (Shot list? Story board?) on set should have a dry run and a separate handler for the boom pole.
