I recorded my TV with a dslr and it looks like it has a ThumbPrint.

Hello,

I recently used my Samsung UN46ES6600 LED Tv as a news monitor for a project I am working on. I used my Canon T2i to record the footage.
ISO Speed ratings: 1600
f/4.0
32mm
Shutter speed= 1/60

For some reason it looks like there is a thumbprint on the television screen. I am not to sure how or why it is there, but I am trying to get rid of it.

Here is a picture of what is going on.

I can really use the help. I greatly appreciate it!

This is moiré, which can be tricky to get rid of.

It's a common problem with Canon DSLRs which use line-skipping to reduce the full sensor image down to 1080 HD.

The Panasonic GH2 uses pixel-binning to reduce the full sensor image, so it has very little moiré when shooting video.

The new Canon EOS Cine cameras ( C100 / C300 / C500 ) also show very little moiré with the video they record.
