Yes, AJA, Blackmagic, AVID, TV Logic, have all shocked us (and for my business, learning about the
new 6 Gig SATA drives, and support products was the most critical), but the single most useful
program to help make a living in post production was CAT DV, and at $350 for a single license copy, it's a no brainer.

Unfortunately for me, I am not the first person involved with shared storage that knows this fact.

Definitely for post production and media management, there was nothing even remotely close to Cat-DV. Thanks to them I found the Cache-A product too, which looks like a nice compliment to Cat-DV.

To my pleasant surprise, every time I speak with Bryson about CATdv, I come up with yet another
significant use for it within our existing workflow. The latest? Music cue sheets.

It's the "Swiss Army Knife" of the Post process.

Great product.

I have to say that Thursday morning it was nice to find that plaque at the booth.

It vindicates a lot of what I've been saying for a few years now. Great to see you guys there and Bob, I knew you'd "get it" and it'll live nicely on that Final Share.

Mark, you exactly hit it on the head. It's a set of tools to solve production problems. We usually install it for one use and then people take it and apply it all over their shop.

The UK folks have brought this thing a long way since I put it on Celeb Rehab, we've now got tools to run an enterprise.

Again, really great to put faces to the names and "handles" on here.

Can you explain the Cache-A integration? Looking to beef up Cache-A's internal catalog. Does CatDV tell you what has been archived to what tape, if so, I'd imagine that info is searchable? To what level is it searchable? Are the contents of p2 XMLs cataloged or is it just file/folder name? Couldn't make it out to NAB this year and really wanted to see this in action.

We have a prime cache.
