Install v.15 without deleting or messing up v.14.3?

I checked the directories and it doesn't differentiate between versions. Will the new version 15 of Resolve overwrite 14.3?

New versions will overwrite the old ones and also update the database. And this is a beta so if you upgrade you'll probably want to backup your database and/or your projects.

Of course! I wouldn't want to deprive the world of my original out of camera copy of "I Am A GH5 179d AF Fix Addict"! 😉

So then my next question is, if you were to install the beta of v.15 how would you do so? And do you plan to?

Doubleclick the installer and follow the directions. Probably. You do what you do, dude. 😉

[Duke Sweden] "And do you plan to?"

Already did on my home computer. Probably won't do that on my work computer until it's out of beta. I managed to find a repeatable crash with a certain tool in the new Fusion page.

Hey! If I wanted sarcasm I'd have lunch with my mother! 😉

So I guess I'll wait until it's out of beta as well. I got a good thing going here, no sense in messing it up for a feature I'll probably never use (Fusion).

I would actually recommend learning a bit of Fusion. It'll make projects where you need keying etc. a bit simpler because you have actual comp tools to do it instead of using the color page secondaries for that.

But I like using color page secondaries to key. It's really easy and I get great keys. Also it's been months since I've come up with any new ideas for green screen comedies. I downloaded the trial version of Fusion and it looked nowhere near as intuitive as After Effects. Who knows, I may get the bug by the time 15 is out of beta.
Cheers!

Well, I took the plunge, and the results are so-so. As you said there's a crashing problem with Fusion. I do like that you can open multiple timelines in tabs, among other tweaks to the interface (I also like that you can open a LUTs panel and scroll over a LUT to see the effect on your clip.

The one thing that pisses me off is, the official v.15 youtube video shows an audio effect called Noise Reduction. It's listed in the user manual, but it doesn't show up in the list of effects. Grrrrr....

Anyway, I would recommend that you guys who do this for a living stay away. It still has some tweaking that needs to be done.

EDIT: Hey, Tero. Just saw a fix for the Fusion crashes if you're interested. Just go into Preferences and check "Always Use CPU for Fusion" or words to that effect.

You can usually install two different versions on a mac, but you will have to have separate databases.
Windows I don't think there is any way to do it, without a dual boot. (or virtual hard drive)

Hey Glenn. I have v.14.3 installer just in case but so far v. 15 looks pretty cool and, as I told Tero, there is a temporary fix to keep Fusion from crashing. I didn't want to run both versions, I just wanted to make sure I could go back to 14.3 if necessary.
Cheers!

Well, like I said, I'm not a heavy user of Fusion. I was able to open the page, add an effect, and go to coloring, and also apply a Fusion title from the edit page. Both of those things immediately crashed the program before.
