AVC Intra 100 in Resolve 12.1

I have a project that was edited on Final Cut 7 using footage from a Panasonic HPX370 camera brought into FCP as AVC Intra 100 files. They work fine in FCP7. Very simple edit with footage and a few graphics. Edited on an old MacPro with Snow Leopard. I used Media Manager to copy the assets to a newer iMac.
Export an XML from Final Cut 7 to the new iMac running Resolve 12.1. Open it up in Resolve and it works OK. However, none of the AVC Intra 100 footage will playback. Neither will it play back in Quicktime player.

Went to Apple and downloaded the Pro Video Quicktime components but I cannot install them to this computer since it does not have Final Cut, Motion or Compressor installed (seriously Apple!). In the old days it was just a matter of dragging the Quicktime components to the Quicktime Library folder. The new iMac will not allow the components to be copied from the old machine to the new machine. The newer Quicktime Player will, however, load the AVC Intra 100 clip and then convert it to ProRes, but cannot play the file itself. I shoot on the Panasonic 370, and I was hopefully planning using Resolve to edit, ingesting the MFX Content folder from the 370 into Resolve.
Is this going to work? It seems that with the number of cameras shooting AVC Intra footage, it should not be an issue to edit in Resolve. Or am I just missing something obvious? I hope....Have the P2 issues on Resolve still not been addressed after all this time?

You could try to use EditReady to wrap the files and see if that will allow them to play in QuickTime:

I install the Apple Codecs all the time on systems without any of Apples Pro Software and it works great.

Just download this Installer from Apple and use Pacifist from Charles Soft to Install them.
Drag the Installer Package to Pacifist and it will open it up, then select the top the top level in the listing and click Install.
When you click on Install you will be asked for you Administrator Password and when it asks if you want to overwrite files just click no.

Thank you, Brent
I installed the Quicktime components using your instructions and all is well in Quicktime again.
The AVC Intra files are now being recognized by Qiucktime and will play normally.
Thanks again!

You are very welcome and I appreciate the Thank You.

One more tip, I refuse to use QT-10 and always install QT-7 on my systems.
It works fine and still takes my old license code so I even have QT-7 Pro.
It's way to useful a utility and should have never been discontinued.
I've installed it on Lion all the way up to Sierra with no issues.
Once installed you won't find it in the Applications Folder it will reside in the Utilities Folder on the newer OS's.

Here's the link for the installer.

I wonder if there's somewhere on Creative Cow that I could post this for all to see?
I think it's ridiculous that these Codecs are not automatically installed with OS X.
I'd like more people to know how to install the codecs and that QT-7 still works on OS X.

Be warned that Apple has said that both Final Cut Pro 7 and QuickTime 7 will no longer be supported at a certain point, but I think it'll be the next OSX release after Sierra.

Yep. I've already installed Quicktime 7 and put in my old FCP7 codes. I'm not a big fan of QTX because of it's limited ability to export to a different format. I still use QT7 as a "Mini Compressor".
