I am in the process of getting a grading suite and had a question about wall colours. Having consulted the Color Correction Handbook, it mentions having a gradation of intensity around the monitor surround, which can be accomplished with uneven lighting. However, I saw the below image on Blackmagic's website and it's basically become what I would describe as my ideal grading suite (apart from the desk perhaps). You'll notice that as well as backlighting the monitor they in fact have two shades of gray in a pattern, not one. Has anyone come across this, would it be easy enough to accomplish and can you recommend which two shades would go best together?
Secondly, can anyone have a guess at what the two shades of gray are on the Munsell (or %) scale, in particular the darker shade? If I were to go with one shade it would have to be the darker one featured here.
