We were thinking of upgrading but wanted to see what would be the best choice.
Our current setup is a Mac Pro 2009 with the 2 x quad core 2.26 cpu's. We are running OSX 10.6.8 and Resolve 8 (will move to 9 at some point). I think we just run OSX in the default kernel mode (32 bit right?). Resolve is still just 32bit on OSX right?
So we currently have 6GB of ram and wanted to see if it will help to increase that amount and if so, what would be a good number. we do run into the out of memory message sometimes.
We will upgrade the RAM then. Does it matter how many sticks of RAM or what size they are for best performance? Or just put as many in as we can afford? Also for our setup using Resolve 8, it wouldn't really matter if we boot up in 32 or 64 bit right? When we move to 9 we would want to make sure we are in a 64bit OS environment right?
