GT120/285 Combo Issues: Mac 3,1 10.7.4
on Jul 10, 2012 at 8:33:13 pm

Hello friends,

I am helping a local post house setup a basic Resolve Light system and we are having some issues just getting the GT120 to work as was purchased from Dave P. but not sure we will get a response in time so wanted to post here as the job starts tomorrow AM, and I want to insure we are up and running in time!

Important Details:
System crashes with the 120 installed in either Pcie slot 1 or 2. In fact we can only start up the computer in safe-boot mode.

We will be installing the stock mac 285 card tomorrow, but need to know if there is any kext file we should be deleting to even get the 120 to function, or anything that you guys can recommend to make sure when i come in with my 285 everything works properly. Right now just the 120 alone wont even work.

So, the 120 is installed on a Mac Pro 3,1 running Lion 10.7.4.

And we installed the following driver:

Version: 270.00.00f06
Release Date: 2012.05.10
Operating System: Mac OSX Lion 10.7.4
Language: English (U.S.)

Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

The card sent from macvidcards was apparently the problem - did not work on the macpro 3.1 OR my 5,1 12-core what does work on both systems is my own Mac stock GT120 (grey), not sure if it was a bad card we got or what but curious to know if those dual-dvi 120 cards actually work on 10.7?!

Maybe it was just a bad card..

DaVinci 8.2.2
OSX 10.7.4

GT120/GTX580 (CUDA 4.2.10)
