Their should be a resolve tier between resolve and resolve studio

Their should be a paid tier between resolve and resolve studio. This version should have everything except all the networking and sharing. no 3d film...

Tailored to the small end to end shops. Maybe for $500.00 and maybe bundles with some hardware.

Last time I checked, there were quite a few Resolve Studio dongles for sale under $500 on eBay.

Can the version be updated? Can the license be transfered?

What specific feature(s) are you lacking in your workflow with Resolve Ricardo?

These or some reasonable version. It could stay up 2k maybe 2k raw 10-12 bit

Resolve - Resolve studio - Resove studio Pro

1-Real time noise reduction with window and grade qualification using CUDA and OpenCL GPUs

2-Unlimited noise reduction node position using CUDA and OpenGL GPUs.

3-Edit Sizing now includes an automatic geometric distortion correction with a user trim slider.

4-OpenFX plugin UI has access to all frames for performing advanced operations like tracking, noise profiling etc.

5-Render Sony XAVC Intra

6-Interlaced media can be de-interlaced with a simple checkbox

7-ResolveFX Film Grain

8-ResolveFX Lens Blur

9-ResolveFX Lens Flare

I think the most reasonable answer is "just spend the money and buy the full version."

+1. buy the full version.

or buy a bmd camera and get it for free. or buy the dongle from someone who did this and doesn't need the full version.

the price is very reasonable, isn't it?

[Andy Winter] "the price is very reasonable, isn't it?"

If, by reasonable, you mean "0.0012677" of the MSRP for daVinci 8:8:8 (standard definition, circa 2000), yes, and an even larger price difference compared to a single seat of daVinci 2K+ with multiple power windows.

The license is the lowest-cost single item in this entire model.

I think a version like I mentiones would serve a differnt market segment, mostly the

small to medium end to end shops or independant content producers that dont need all

that, and mostly those that didnt migrate to adobe cc. IMOP These shops dont realy

have much incentive to buy resolve studio.

I dont need another camera specialy one that I need to spend at least 10 grand to

make it usable for my work and im sure many think like me. Most will stick to the

free version a loss to BM and to the community as a whole. Because bm needs to make

money and that is good for all of us.

But If push comes to shove to ill buy studio even though I would not use most of

the high end tools.

Every one of those users, assuming they are looking at a proper video output, is using a Blackmagic video interface that I further assume they paid for. That is how Blackmagic can afford to give away the software in the first place.

Quite frankly, at $1000 for the full version it's STILL a giveaway.

Agree with you totally Mike - $1000 for Resolve Studio is an incredible bargain. And, if Blackmagic was short of funds they'd downsize their booth at NAB, which is consistently the largest there year after year.

I have heard of people using the free and adding a third party noise reduction solution like Neat to fill that missing gap. Otherwise the free version is really very complete.

I just sold my second dongle to a friend as I have two BM cameras but only need one license so look to ebay etc if you want to get something even cheaper.

Are those licenses in ebay transferable? are they upgradeable?

Ricardo, they are just a USB dongle. There is no online registration or need to lock a specific dongle to a user so all you need to do it insert the dongle and Resolve Studio checks and opens the software.

There is nothing to transfer but the physical usb stick. My original dongle has been used for Resolve 10 through to the current. When I sold it to my friend he just plugged it in and opened 12.5. Simple system and fully transferable
