The Forbidden Room Trailer

Hey Guys, Rookie poster here so tear me apart to teach me the proper way to lay things out properly.

I was hoping someone might give me some pointers on how they created some of these styles. In my head it's obviously about the grade and textures but I was hoping someone might point me in a good direction to find some similar burns like those in these sequences and maybe a rough idea of where to start with the colouring.

Thanks in Advance for all your help.

You can buy film light-leak and burns as files and then composite them in as layers, which will duplicate this effect pretty closely:

http://cinegrain.com/
http://gorillagrain.com/
http://www.rgrain.com/
http://www.crumplepop.com/
http://indieessentials.com
http://www.filmwash.com/shop/
http://vegasaur.com/film-grain
http://filmlooks.com/
https://www.fxphd.com/store/stock/scratchfx-footage-bundle/
http://www.artbeats.com/collections/638-Film-Clutter-2-HD/info [costly]

Each of them has pros and cons, but I generally find I return to Cinegrain most of the time. Crumblepop, FilmLooks, and Indie Essentials have some good damaged film bits, as does Warren Eagles with his ScratchFX bundle on FXPHD.

It looks like they used some of the burn effects as a displacement layer. Perhaps in AE,Fusion or Nuke. Possible to do with an ofx plugin as well.

Ah wow thanks for all of the advice guys, I've been trying to recreate some of those transitions but and researching the resources you guys gave me. I think it might take a while though.
