I have a very strange issue here. I'm transcoding Arri Alexa ET ProRes 4444 files to DNxHD 36 MXF through DaVinci Resolve Lite 11 and handle it to editors for Avid 8.3.1. Up until this day everything worked smooth, but today we brought to Avid 7 rolls, and rolls 1-3 were perfectly fine, roll 4 showed up offline right from the middle and rolls 5-7 were offline completely. Also we noticed that all the rolls which came online (just for that one day) had incorrect timecode. I've double checked my settings, but everything is exactly as it was (and anyway how is it possible to change the settings in the middle of the process?), and just retranscoded all the "offline" files and they came up online as usual.
So now I'm wondering what could it be? Editors start working with the dailies next day, so in such case I had to redo the whole day of the footage. Does anyone know how to prevent it or at least what could have caused it?
I suppose you are bringing them into AVID through the backdoor ?
Like just moving them into the Media drive and letting Avid make an .mdb file ?
If so you need to make sure AVID is completely shut down , if not it indexes half files and render then offline.
